PUBLIC HEARING COMMISSIONER
URBAN AND RURAL PLANNING ACT 2000

The City is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who wish to serve as Commissioners for public hearings. Under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 as part of the amendment process to the Municipal Plan, the Act mandates that a Commissioner be appointed by Council to oversee a public hearing and provide a report with recommendations on the amendment.
Persons interested in being considered should have the following qualifications:
a) experience in or knowledge of municipal law, land use planning, civil engineering, surveying, or a related field; and
b) working knowledge of the Urban and Rural Planning Act 2000, the St. John’s Urban Region Regional Plan, the Mount Pearl Municipal Plan 2010, associated Development Schemes, and the Mount Pearl Development Regulations 2010.
The Commissioner shall not be a member or an employee of a council or regional authority in the province.

Interested individuals are asked to submit a written statement of interest and qualifications to City Hall, 3 Centennial Street, or via email to the address above by 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2024. Please mark your submission as “Public Hearing Commissioner.”
