Ceremonial First Pitch & Grand Re-Opening of Team Gushue Baseball Field

Mount Pearl, NL – August 14, 2024 – The City of Mount Pearl invites members of the media to attend a special event marking the Grand Re-Opening of the Team Gushue Baseball Field.

Mayor Dave Aker will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch as Team Newfoundland and Labrador faces off against Team Alberta during the 18U National Baseball Championships.

The event will take place on Friday, August 16th, at 11:30 AM at the Team Gushue Baseball Field.

The 18U National Baseball Championships will serve as a crucial test run for the 2025 Canada Games, during which Mount Pearl will host several baseball events.

We invite you to join Gusty, the 2025 Canada Games Mascot, and explore the recent upgrades to the facility, including the conversion of the field from sand to clay, the addition of a new halo, score clock, flags, helmet racks, bat racks, bullpens, accessible bleachers, and accessible paths.
