Liability Insurance Notice

The City of Mount Pearl’s insurance provider has made changes to their Liability Insurance Coverage. This change has resulted in private renters and their attendees no longer being covered by the city’s Liability Insurance plan. This includes rentals for ice hockey, ball hockey, weddings, birthday parties, baby showers, etc.

Effective immediately, renters using any of the city’s facilities must either:

a.     Show proof of their own $2,000,000.00 commercial liability insurance coverage protecting them and their attendees or;

b.     Purchase liability insurance through the city (rates are dependent on rental type/duration).

The city will discuss options with renters at the time of booking. Insurance rates for the event will be quoted and incorporated into the rental agreement at that time.
