COUNCILLOR PAULA TESSIER

Councillor Paula Tessier was first elected to the Mount Pearl City Council on September 27, 2005.

Paula and her husband Geoff have lived in Mount Pearl since 1991 and are the very proud parents of three sons, Benjamin, Samuel, and Noah.

As a long time volunteer in the City, Paula recognizes the importance of being involved in your community and with its residents. She has worked with many organizations on a volunteer basis and takes great pleasure in volunteering.

Professionally, Paula proudly works with The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region, as the Coordinator of Community Development for Newfoundland and Labrador; a position she finds extremely rewarding. She is also a freelance writer. Her long-running lifestyles column "Five Minutes Peace" can be found weekly in "The Telegram".

Paula is currently Chairperson of the Community Services Committee, is a member of the Public Works Committee, and an alternate member on the Engineering Services Committee.

Paula is the Chair of the North East Avalon Regional Plan Leadership Team and has been pleased to be Chair of the Advisory Committee with Mount Pearl's Housing and Homelessness Study.

It is a very exciting time to be living in Mount Pearl.  As a City, we are always changing and growing, with our primary focus always centered directly on the residents who make our community so special.
